Development of new sticky and conducting polymer surfaces for MEMS applications

The development of new surfaces, highly sticky and conducting, is a great challenge in the field microdevices fabrication, more precisely for 3D assembly microcomponents. Such surfaces were prepared by electrochemical deposition polyaniline films. films from phosphoric acid solution adhesive than ones obtained other acids. Indeed, adhesion H3PO4 was found to be high (> 1 µN) stable time, as shown AFM force measurements. properties correlated with morphology, thickness roughness films, electrodeposition conditions (H3PO4 concentration time) optimized. this original polymer similar those best commercial glues. conductivity film also demonstrated well possibility switch reversibly non-adhesive an behavior. A wide range applications, telecommunications, bioengineering, generally speaking MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) can envisaged these materials.
